Performance & Efficiency
The Tacoma offers a turbocharged 2.4-liter engine producing 278 horsepower, or an optional hybrid variant with 326 horsepower. The hybrid provides improved efficiency and low-end torque. We averaged 24 mpg combined with the hybrid.
Interior Quality & Space
The interior is completely redesigned with a modern dashboard featuring up to a 14-inch touchscreen. Material quality has improved substantially while maintaining durability. The cabin is now genuinely comfortable for daily driving.
Safety & Technology
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard. The truck-specific calibration handles towing and off-road situations appropriately. Multi-terrain monitor aids off-road navigation.
Driving Experience
On pavement, the new Tacoma is the most refined version ever. Off-road capability remains exceptional, with TRD Pro models offering serious trail-conquering ability. The hybrid provides excellent torque for both situations.
